The new World of Warcraft expansion brings dragons back to the forefront: what you can do in Dragonflight

Fresh Video Game News 2022

Nearly two decades after the debut of the hugely successful World of Warcraft game, Blizzard has just announced an exciting new expansion.

Dragonflight will allow users to explore the Dragon Islands, as well as the ancestral Dragonflight House in Azeroth.

In fact, it has been a long time since World of Warcraft dragons, which can change their shape, managed to be the stars of this video game. And as fashion tends to return, over the years, a new movie trailer, which the studio released today, tells the history of the continent, putting dragons in the forefront again.

Consisting of five new areas, the Dragon Islands will introduce Dracthyr, a new race of dragons that can take on humanoid form and that you can obviously play with.

The Dracthyr characters can join both the Alliance and the Horde and are part of the only race that can access the new Evoker class of expansion. As an Evoker, you can either specialize in healing your allies or fight, depending on your gaming preferences.

Dragonflight will also introduce Dragonriding, perhaps the most interesting part of the new World of Warcraft expansion

True, World of Warcraft has such options, available through Burning Crusade, since 2007, but the new expansion seems to add more dynamism to the activity, through special maneuvers that you can perform directly in the air. For example, you can take a bomb out of the depths, to quickly lower it to the edge of a rock and release it from there. And the most interesting aspect: you can ride dragons.

In addition to these features, Blizzard said that the expansion will be delivered with improvements in the quality of gaming life, including a redesigned user interface that players can customize to their liking.

World of Warcraft Dragonflight doesn’t have a release date yet, but we expect Blizzard to share more information about the expansion in the coming weeks or even months. The studio recently announced plans to relaunch the 2008 Wrath of the Lich King for the World of Warcraft Classic.
