Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media studio is working on not one, but two new games with Disney. Following Marvel’s announcement last year, Hennig and company recently revealed that they are preparing a Star Wars AAA game with Lucasfilm Games.
As in the case of the collaboration with the Marvel studio, fans can expect an experience that emphasizes, for the most part, the narrative, the action, but also the adventure characteristic of this type of game. Lucasfilm Games said that the title will tell a new original story, set in the Star Wars galaxy, but also provided some other details about the project, including information about the platforms that will serve as hosts for the new game.
The first Star Wars movie, 1977, changed Amy Henning’s life
“I’ve often talked about how the 1977 Star Wars essentially changed the structure of my brain at the age of 12, shaping my creative life and future in the years that followed,” said Hennig, whose credits previous ones include the “Uncharted” series from Naughty Dog. “I am very happy to work with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories about this galaxy that I love so much,” she added.
For Hennig, Tuesday’s announcement marks a return to the Star Wars franchise. Prior to founding Skydance New Media, she worked at the EA Visceral Games studio, a Star Wars game that was eventually canceled by the publisher.
Her game is one of the few new Star Wars titles in development. It is important to note that Respawn Entertainment is currently working on three new games, including a sequel to “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.” Fans are also looking forward to “Star Wars: Eclipse” (Quantic Dream), which is also scheduled to be released soon.
